I'am 53 and was born with Tetrology Of Fallots which is a congenital heart condition and have had 4 open heart surgeries. A few years ago I was told that I was in heart failure with the left side of my heart only working at 34% and my heart is also enlarged. In August 2014 some 8 months after my 4th surgery I decided to go vegan, initially as an experiment to see if it would help with my high colesterol and to get off the drugs for it. I was surprised what a quick change the vegan diet made to my colesterol so as a result I stuck to it. Recently I had an MRI & CT Scan as the Cardiologist had talked about the possibilty of me needing a pacemaker and they wanted to investigate further. When I had the appointment with my Cardiologist to discuss my result I got a shock. The MRI showed that I had scaring on the heart, and they think I may have a condition called cardiac sarcoidosis though I will need more tests to confirm this. The day before I got the results about the scaring & sarciodosis I decided to stop eating all the vegan crap, like the fake meat burgers, chips, oil etc and also started intimitent fasting. So for my diet I have gone WFPB with no oil and as a result of this withing 4 days I have lost almost 2kg or around 4 pounds.

I've been seeking out vegan healing testimonials because I've experienced huge health gains by changing my diet. Strangely, I cut all plants out of my diet 5 months ago. I watch many "carnivore lifestyle" videos and a huge number report almost identical health improvements - joint pain, GIRD, inflammation, arthritis etc. How can such diametrically opposed diets have such similar health benefits?! Well, I've both had a kidney stone and given birth, and I can attest to the fact that shingles pain is worse than either. Mainly because while the other two last a day or two, usually, shingles pain goes on for weeks and weeks. I'm at the tail end of it right now, only the pain hasn't subsided a bit. My next step is a nerve block, which I am NOT looking forward to but am hoping will help. Thank you for the gabapentin warning. My NP has upped my dosage twice now, and I won't let her do it again.

I had singles 3 months ago. Also CA and Lupus. Now for 3 months i can not eat well. Now a day back i got sorte of a goal bladder attack? The worst at al. I suffer severe pain at the moment. Please what can a do about this? The singles on my left side attack the breast with severe pain. I am already 4 weeks mostly in bed. I also got a goal attack yesterday, i can not eat and only drink water. The pain is really severe spesiaal in my breast. That to do in this case? I am 68 female. Thank you. I too am going thru a shingles outbreak right now at 70 years of age. My blisters started on the inside of my left arm on several areas just below my elbow through to my wrist which hardly hurt, but most of my pain, which is a burning pain, is on my left chest where no blisters are apparent. I am currently on three medications, Acyclovir, an antiviral, Prednisone, a steroid and a topical cream. So far I am in my 5th day and the blisters are starting to dry up. Hoping this pain does not last as long as others are saying since I already have long term chronic pain issues.

I got in in 1979, when I was 27 years old. Lasted 2 months the bad phase and the nerve pain and numbness in my left shoulder lasted 30 years. No treatment in those days. One night my husband actually pulled me back from the balcony as I was going to throw myself off. I just couldn't stand the pain anymore. My doctor, close to retirement, said it was the worst case he had seen in all all life. Will never ever forget it. It is so common that anything that can be done to prevent it or mitigate the symptoms is great. Thank goodness there have been improvements in the 45 years since I got it.
